Tisca has been hand-weaving rugs in their base factory in Transylvania, Romania for over 50 years.
Wool imported from New Zealand and Europe is gathered in 'beds' and manually put together into usable sections. The wool is then hand-spun to create a durable thread of yarn which makes up the base of the rug.
These threads of yarn are hot washed, rinsed and dried before the yarn is woven onto the weaving mill. Expert weavers work the mill to create a rug that is soft, durable and infused with skill and tradition.
Finally, each rug is weighed, measured, cleaned and inspected before receiving a final triple stitched textile border.
