Part of the Antiquarian collection, this striking Louis de Poortere flatweave features a traditional pattern with a contemporary twist. The Persian-inspired design comprises a large rosette-shaped central medallion and thick hexagonal perimeter. It is flanked by a thick border, intricately decorated with a variety of floral and foliage shapes. The classic design is given a modern uplift by way of the bold colour scheme, which features hues of gold, blue and grey as well as the artfully distressed sections which give the rug a vintage feel. The design is certain to be an eye-catching focal point wherever it is placed.
This rug has been carefully flatwoven using soft cotton chenille yarn on a Jacquard loom, resulting in a strong, thin rug with a subtle lustre and soft texture. Due to their lack of pile. flatweaves are an ideal choice for placing under furniture, making them particularly suited for living rooms and dining rooms.
