Rug Styling with Style So Simple

This week we’re delighted to have Irish Interior Designer Aoife from Style So Simple here for a guest post. She’s chatting all about her favourite options and her rug styling tips for the perfect interior.

Hey readers,

Hello from Style So Simple!

So I chit-chat about rugs a lot, like a lot a lot so this little blog is very up my street! They are just such a great way to easily transform a space while adding texture and comfort. Not to mention they are a must for zoning in open plan areas.

Anyhow as you can see, I am a rug pusher! So today I’m looking at some of my favourite rugs from one of my favourite Irish rug stores.

Subtle Texture

I love this Dash & Albert rug! I am getting such Studio McGee vibes from it. Lots of texture and simple hues. Perfect! The green is soft, earthy and not too pushy, just perfectly subtle. This means it will work with earthy greens and the more contemporary blue-greens…love! Oh! I also love that this rug is suitable for indoor/outdoor use. When looking for a client this type of rug just screams perfection. It is aesthetically stunning and also durable so it’s ideal for so many households!

Old World Contemporary

The perfect transitional piece and one of my go-to rug styles. I actually have something very similar in my own living room. I love that this Louis de Poortere rug injects a pop of colour without overtaking an interior. It allows you to add a contemporary hue to a space but as the pattern is more traditional it creates that perfect balance of old and new. Which I just love.

Persian Chic

Ohh the Persian, it wouldn’t be a rug guide without one! Everyone should have at least one Persian rug in their homes. Right? The craftsmanship alone is reason to lust over these little guys but on the visual side, they are the one rug that always works in both a traditional interior as well as contemporary interiors. They just have that stand-alone aesthetic that looks great in so many spaces. I have a serious crush on them.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my rug styling tips and do let me know if you choose any of these rugs for your own home!
