Retail Sales Assistant

We are currently recruiting full-time & part-time Retail Sales Assistants for our busy store in Douglas, Cork. The ideal candidate will have previous retail experience, preferably within a luxury or homewares setting. We’re looking for a highly motivated, proactive individual that works well as part of a team and also on their own initiative. This is a hands-on role and full training will be provided. Saturday availability is essential for this position. There will be opportunities for the right candidate to grow and develop their career with Rugs.ie as we continue to expand our business in-store and online.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Influence and increase sales in a one to one selling environment
  • Deliver a world-class experience to all customers in-store
  • Assist with deliveries and managing stock levels
  • Merchandising the store and maintaining high shop floor standards
  • Operating the till system, handling financial transactions including returns and exchanges
  • Learn and develop your knowledge of our product offering

Skills and Specifications:

  • Experience in a similar role is essential
  • Flexibility to work weekends
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • A passion for interiors and design would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills

Online Merchandiser

As we continue to expand our online presence, we are recruiting an Online Merchandiser to join our Digital team in our head office in Cork. This is a brand new role where you will be managing the vast catalogue of products on Rugs.ie and contributing to the continued growth and expansion of Rugs.ie. The position will require flexibility, attention to detail and a willingness to learn. A busy and exciting time of growth for Rugs.ie, we’re looking for someone with a technical mind-set and a keen interest in online retail to join the team.

The Role

  • Manage new products uploads
  • Be responsible for all online product and category merchandising
  • Regularly update online stock volumes
  • Liaise with our web development team regarding any product issues
  • Manage regular price changes
  • Keep the website up-to-date with product removals
  • Monitor competitor pricing and make changes where necessary
  • Manage product photography and coordinate an external photographer to take product photos
  • Day-to-day marketing and eCommerce administration
  • Support the customer service team in answering customer queries via phone, live chat, and email
  • Support the Digital Marketing & eCommerce Manager with any other tasks as required

Required Skills

  • Must have keen attention to detail
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in retail and/or customer service is a bonus
