With the launch of two exciting new ranges, Rugs.ie recently spent the day at Studio Five in Midleton, Cork, for a photoshoot to showcase rugs from the LAYERED and Tisca Sofia collections.
Studio Five is a creative space and photography studio owned by renowned food and drink photographer Monika Coghlan, and was the perfect setting for our photoshoot. Natural light abounds in this space, which is styled in a neutral Nordic colour palette, and makes Studio Five a creative person’s dream location. It’s filled to the brim with beautiful props, from soft textiles to glassware and artwork to dried flowers. It even has a fully functioning kitchen space.
We had an incredible, creative day, and we were lucky enough to work with some amazing Irish businesses.
Designing the Shoot
One of our highlights was working with local mid-century furniture specialists Nordach Furniture. We featured a selection of their beautiful vintage furniture, including a teak folding-leaf dining table set and coffee table by British manufacturer G Plan. The coffee table is from the Fresco range designed by Victor Wilkins, and is also known as the Space Invader Table.
We chose several parts of the studio to show off the best selections from our new, handpicked ranges, and worked with Juniper Rose Flower Studio, located right across the street, to provide fresh flowers and greenery to bring the photos to life.
Styling the New Collections
The first of our new ranges is from LAYERED, a renowned Swedish interior design brand. LAYERED rugs are handmade from high-quality natural materials and feature a range of elevated designs from bold contemporary styles muted pieces in neutral tones. Plus, these rugs are GoodWeave-certified, reflecting LAYERED's commitment to sustainable quality.
We styled the Rollakan Ruth Spring Grass runner in the Studio Five’s kitchen space. The Nordic palette of the kitchen perfectly complimented the runners soft shades of sage green and pink. We also paired the Swedish Homage Lilly Rust rug with a beautiful teak dining set from Nordach Furniture. Handwoven from 100% wool, the luxuriously soft pile adds cosy warmth underneath your feet, while the rust coloured palette injects character and a warmth into any space.
We were also delighted to feature our newest collection of Tisca Sofia rugs. These pieces are handwoven from pure wool and can be made to measure, which means that they can be customised for almost any space. We styled some of our favourite colours including Pebble, Coast, Fog and Latte in this space to show how the range offers room for creativity.
Studio Five
Studio Five is based in Midleton town centre, just a short drive from Cork city, and the bustling town was filled with beautiful cafes and lunch spots. We tried out incredible coffees and pastries from Granary Foodstore and the Grumpy Bakers, along with focaccia sandwiches from Bernie’s.
